The city accelerator is based on the global urgency of housing shortage.
In 2009, inadequate housing conditions resulted in a global shortage of 187 million housing units. In 2025, this could increase to as much as 425 million. To provide this amount of housing units, current construction practice has to speed up dramatically. The project analyzes the construction process and proposes a software which calculates the shortest possible construction time for cites, based on optimized construction methods and urban layout.
