Fresh Food Web

'Robotic City' Graduation Project by Maarten Haspels

Fall 2009/2010 @ TU Delft
Msc 3/4
01 September 2009 / 18 June 2010

The project is based on the well-known problems around today’s food production: food is produced far from where it is consumed, resulting in transportation, energy consumption and nutrient drainage.

But where other projects in the area of urban farming take only small steps to really change the system, Fresh Food Web makes the radical proposal of producing all food necessary for a city within the boundaries of that very city. The food production and processing are fully automated to provide maximum efficiency on a minimized footprint.
